Due to go into operation later this year, Goweil has been building a new production facility in the INKOBA industrial area in northern Austria.
Although construction of the new plant has been underway since April, the ground-breaking ceremony was only held in June, due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Goweil has been manufacturing baling and wrapping equipment since 1988, and employs more than 200 people across Europe, the majority of whom work at the current company headquarters in Kirchschlag, near the city of Linz.
“Company size, sales figures and product range have developed rapidly over the last 30 years,” says Managing Director Herbert Goweil. “The plant in Kirchschlag is now bursting at the seams, and the expansion possibilities have been exhausted. Nevertheless, we wanted to stay in the region and decided in 2017 to purchase the operating area in Rainbach im Muhlkris.”
Goweil is investing a total of 22 million Euro in the new facility, which is being built on a 4.3ha site and will consist of a paint shop, assembly hall and dispatch area covering a total area of 15,500m2. In addition, the 2100m2 social building is being constructed, including a company canteen which is being integrated in addition to office space and lounges.
The production of individual components will be relocated to the new facility, with up to 150 new jobs created in the region.
